25th February 2009
Dear Parents of Year Six Children

As this is their last outing as Parsloes Primary School pupils we wanted to do something different for them.
So we have arranged for Year six children to go to Stubbers Adventure Centre for a day.

For this day we have arranged the following activities
Climbing
Raft building
Kayaking
Team Challenge Course

A donation of £30.00 is requested to cover the cost of the activities and transport to get there. If your child is interested in going on this trip, you will need to pay a £10.00 deposit by Friday 13th March to secure a place. A letter outlining more of the details of this outing will be sent out nearer the time.

If you would like any information on payment schemes please do not hesitate to get in touch with myself or Mrs Parkin.

If you would like more information about the activities we have booked please see Mrs. Durrant.

Please sign and return the attached slip.

Thank you for your co-operation

World Book Day Thursday 5th March 2009

23rd February 2009
Dear Parent / Carer,

We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March 2009. There will be many activities that the children will be able to enjoy on this day while they are learning about a book that their teacher will introduce to them.

Your child will be required to dress as a character from a book.

You may want to talk to your child about their favourite book and let them dress up as the main character. You can always let them bring the book to share with the rest of the class.

Some of the activities will include;
· storytelling workshops for all pupils with professional storyteller Roy Cain
· class story swaps
· creating new books
· fancy dress

We hope you will support us in this day. If you would like more information regarding World Book day log on to;

Mythical Bird Competition

5th February 2009

Dear Parents,

To link with the RSPB Birdwatch which we carried out last Friday, we are asking pupils, if they would like to take part in our ‘Create a Mythical Bird Competition’.

This is taking place over the next two weeks.

The children have been asked to create either a 2D or 3D bird using whatever ‘bits and pieces’ they can find at home. They can be as creative and imaginative as they like.

There is no cost to enter the competition but there will be prizes for the best entries!

Closing date is Friday 27th February and winners will be announced then.

Yours sincerely

Jennifer Cole
Art Co-ordinator.
