Reminders
20th November 2012
Dear Parents
PARKING in SHORTCROFTS ROAD:
Could I please remind you all again of the following:
• There is NO parking on any dropped kerbs, as these are residents driveways
• It is not a one way system; while I know many think this would be preferable, it is ultimately the decision of the residents; so please SLOW DOWN when you drive on this road.
• There is NO parking at any time on the zig zag lines.
• When stopping to drop your children off please be considerate of other road users and move off quickly and safely.
Residents may also consider requesting that this road becomes residents parking only, which would make getting your child to and from school even more difficult. So please do comply with these rules, as I know that the vast majority of you do already, so thank you.
UNIFORM:
All children should wear the correct uniform to school each day,( this should be labelled), this does include the correct footwear too. Please see overleaf for details.
We have two bins full of lost property so please so come and check to see if any of these belong to your child.
Nearly new uniform: I fully understand and empathise that replacing uniform is costly especially in the current economic climate and therefore we do have a good supply of nearly new uniform if any of you are interested, in a range of sizes. If you would like to avail of this please contact Mrs. Dumbrill in the school office.
INDIVIDUAL PHOTOGRAPHS:
We have arranged for the photographers to come in again Thursday 22nd at 9.30 to take pictures of any of those children who were away last Thursday.
Thank you for your co-operation with these.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Lipski
Head Teacher

Individual Photographs
Friday 9th November 2012
Dear parents
Thursday 15th November: INDIVIDUAL PHOTOGRAPHS
Arrangements have been made for the photographer to be in school on the above date to take the pupils photographs individually, in family groups (brothers and sisters already attending school) and family groups
including children not yet in school. Should you wish your children to have their photographs taken, please co-operate with the following arrangements:
All school children should be wearing the full school uniform.
Individual photographs
All children in both school and nursery will have their photographs taken individually.
Family Groups
We will organise family groups containing children in school or/and the morning nursery. Children in the afternoon nursery need to be brought into school as usual.
Pre School and Family Groups ( same organisation as last year)
Those of you who want to bring toddlers and babies to school to be photographed with your other children who already attend school are very welcome.
Please come into school with your child at normal school time and you will be taken to the main hall. This will save us time in having to go and collect your child from class.
Once in the hall you will be given a number which will be the order in which the photographs will be taken.
All pupils will be photographed, individually and with their brothers and sisters, unless you inform us otherwise.
You are under no obligation to purchase these photographs, but proofs will be sent out with the children as soon
as they arrive in school. Information about prices and how to order the photographs will be contained in these
envelopes. Please ensure the correct money is enclosed in the envelopes.

Lunchtime Arrangements
14th September 2012
Dear parents,
When your child stays for lunch they can either have a packed lunch or a school dinner.
It is your responsibility to organize whether your child has a packed lunch or school dinner and make sure that your child knows what they are having at lunchtime.
SCHOOL DINNERS:
In Parsloes school hot dinners are provided by the Local Authority’s Schools Catering Service, which is not run by the school. A school dinner costs £2.00 and this money goes directly to the Schools Catering Service NOT to our school.
The system for paying for a school meal is called Parentpay. This means that schools do not take the cash for school meals. Details of how to use this system are available from the school office. If you have any questions about this system please ask to speak to Mrs. Parkin in the school office.
Therefore if your child is going to have a school dinner it is important that you make sure you have topped up your Parentpay account in advance or if your child is entitled to Free School Meals, make sure this is up to date by providing the school with a copy of your Free School Meal authorization letter.
In order for your child to have a school meal there must be sufficient funds in your child’s Parentpay account. While we will not see a child go hungry at lunchtime if there is no funds on their account we cannot for obvious reasons guarantee they will have a full school meal. This is because we are not in a position to subsidise your child’s account from school funds or allow accounts to go overdrawn because the Schools Catering Service expect the school to pay these debts.
If you are experiencing any difficulties with this system please inform us as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements so that your child does not miss out.
PACKED LUNCHES
All packed lunches must be healthy choices. No fizzy drinks, sweets, chocolate are allowed in school packed lunches. Also make sure your child’s packed lunch box has their name on it.
Thank you for your co-operation
Yours sincerely
Mrs. A. Lipski,
Head Teacher

Initial Parents Meeting
12th September 2012
Dear parents,
Initial Meeting with your child’s New Teacher
In a change to previous years, we have decided to arrange an evening where you can have a meeting with your child’s new teacher early in the term. This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s new teacher and discuss how your child has settled in so far and what the class will be working on this term. We have arranged this for Wednesday 19th September, from 3.30 to 6.30pm. This will be by appointment only
The teachers will only be able to see you if you have made an appointment so to make an appointment please see the class teachers after school.
If this is not convenient for you please see the class teacher to arrange an alternative day where you could see them straight after school.
We will also be sending out class timetables and an overview of what will be taught over the Autumn Term.
I look forward to seeing you then.
Yours sincerely
Mrs. A. Lipski,
Head Teacher

Welcome Back
7th September 2012
Dear parents,
I hope you all had a good holiday; it was lovely to see so many of you this morning. I realize that there are many changes for this year, so bear with us as we re-organise routines for the start of this academic year.
The six weeks holidays were extremely busy in the school, with the new building only being handed over to us this Monday and other building work being carried out in the existing school. Everything is not quite as it should be yet, so your patience is greatly appreciated.
Key changes you need to be aware of:
1. Infant and Junior doors, are still the main entrance into the school in the morning for all pupils.
2. Children can use either of these entrance doors, it would be sensible for them to use the entrance door nearest their classroom ( see reverse for where all the classrooms are now)
3. These doors will both open from 8.45 to 9.00 each morning.
4. There will be a permanent fence by the Junior door, as we need to increase playground space for the infants. This is temporarily being marked out by barriers, so try to encourage your children not to walk under these, but through the designated gap. This area is where Year Two children will be collected from at the end of the day
5. All Year One classes and Class RW, should be collected from the Infant playground
6. Years 3 to 6 still should be collected from the Junior football area.
REMINDERS:
COLLECTING AT THE END OF THE DAY:Please STAND BACK, so that my teachers can get all the children out and handed over to you safely.
WATER BOTTLES:
Your child can bring their own water bottle to school which they can sip during lessons. This can only be WATER, no flavoured drinks or cordials. Your child can always fill up their water bottle in school.
We do also sell water bottles, please see Mrs. Dumbrill in the main office.
I am sure there will be more information I will need to pass on to you in the coming weeks as we all get used to the new school, so your patience is greatly appreciated.
Yours sincerely
Mrs. A. Lipski,
Head Teacher
