JUBILEE

22nd May 2012

Dear parents,

JUBILEE CELBRATIONS AT PARSLOES

To celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, which falls during our half term holiday, we will be holding some events on the last day of this half term, Friday 1st June.
Friday 1st June, will be a non-uniform day so children are asked to come to school wearing Red, White and Blue.
Our day will start with special assemblies in the morning, where all children will receive a commemorative coin. We will be having lunchtime earlier that day:

Infant lunch will be from 11.45 to 12.45: Junior lunchtime will be from 12.00pm to 1.00pm.
The School Meals service will be providing a special Jubilee picnic meal that day, so if you wish your child to have that instead of a packed lunch please top up your parent pay account. If you are unsure of what to do please see a member of staff in the school office who will be able to assist you.
At 1.15, after lunch, we are holding our whole school version of the Coronation. If the weather is good this will be in the playground. Parents are welcome to come to this if we manage to hold this in the playground. If the weather is not so good it will be in the main hall and therefore a tight squeeze!!

Following this we will start our parade leaving from Spurling Road at about 2pm, following the roads next to the school and returning to Spurling Road.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could send in donations of cakes or biscuits with your child from the Wednesday, that they can decorate if necessary and we can then sell in the playground from 3pm onwards.
The children are being asked to design the new garden area next to the new build, which we are calling the Jubilee Garden and money raised from selling the cakes will be going towards making the winning design a reality. This will then become a permanent feature to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in our school.

We are hoping to make the day memorable for all and would love for you to be able to join us on our parade! Just remember to wear Red, White and Blue!!

Thank you for your co-operation

Yours sincerely
