Tins – soup / vegetables / fruit / fruits / beans
Packets – tea / rice / pasta / crackers / cakes
Jars – jam / coffee / sauces
Please send in all contributions to your child’s class teacher no later than Wednesday 21st October.
Fresh Fruit and vegetables should only be sent in on Friday 23rd October for immediate use.
This year we would like to provide our annual food parcels for needy citizens in our local area. We are supporting three local good causes and you will decide who gets what. Please use the slip attached to this letter to indicate what good cause you would like to support the most. The more votes a cause gets, the bigger the donation of goods they will receive. So please talk to your child about the good causes and get voting. See overleaf.
Yours sincerely,

SUPPORTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Please Return to Mrs K. Deville
I wish to support…(please tick one good cause only)
YWCA – Young Womens’ Centre Heathway Dagenham Essex.
The YWCA supports young women from disadvantaged backgrounds from the ages of 11 – 30 years. They discuss young womens’ concerns in confidence and deal with issues through workshops such as Healthy eating / English as a second language.

London City Mission – Dawson Centre, Hedgemans Road, Dagenham, Essex
The London City Mission was founded in 1835. It supports people from all walks of life. Some of these people may be homeless / have lost their jobs or are just ‘down on their luck’.
______________________________________________________________
Age Concern – The White House, Green Lane, Dagenham, Essex.
Age concern supports older people in need. Many of these older people are often house bound and need their meals prepared for them. The food parcels will be used for this purpose. Carers often visit on a daily basis.
Do you know a local cause that we could support in the future? If so please contact me with the contact details for the good cause.
