Year 4 Trip to Colchester Castle

6 May 2009

Dear Parents of Year Four Children

Year Four Visit To Colchester Castle
On Thursday 21 May 2009

We have arranged a visit for Year Four children to Colchester Castle. This trip supports and extends their learning on Romans, which they have been studying in class this term.
The LA has approved this trip and full insurance details can be viewed at the school office.

The children will be travelling by coach, which are fitted with seatbelts. They will be supervised by teachers and classroom assistants.

All children need to bring a packed lunch. This should be in a plastic bag, with their name on it, so it can be thrown away once finished.

For the visit all children should wear full school uniform and sensible footwear. The children should not bring pocket money.

We intend to leave school by 9.00am in the morning so ensure your child is in school on time. We will not be returning to school until 4.00pm. All children should then be collected from the Junior playground at this time.

Enclosed is a permission slip, which should be signed and returned to the school before Friday 15 May 2009 along with your donation of £12.00. This covers cost of coach hire for the year group and the cost of the activity at the museum.

If you have any further questions about the trip please do not hesitate to contact the year 4 teachers or myself.

Thank you for your co-operation

Year 2 Trip to Southend

6th May 2009

Dear parents,

Year 2 Trip to Southend
Wednesday, 20 May 2009

We have planned this trip to Southend, to link in with the history topic Past and Present at a Seaside and also to look at the features of a seaside to compare with where they live, as part of the Geography topic. This will include taking them on the pier.

The children will be travelling by coach, which are fitted with seatbelts. They will be supervised by teachers and classroom assistants.

All children need to bring a packed lunch. This should be in a plastic bag, with their name on it, so it can be thrown away once finished.

For the visit all children should wear full school uniform and sensible footwear and have a waterproof coat. The children should not bring pocket money.

We intend to leave school by 9.00 in the morning so ensure your child is in school on time. We aim to return to school by 3.10pm (normal school time). All children should then be collected from the infant playground as normal.

Attached is a permission slip, which should be signed and returned to the school by Friday 15th May 2009 along with your donation of £10.00, this covers the cost of the coach and fee for going on the pier.

If you have any further questions about the trip please do not hesitate to contact the year 2 teachers or Miss Bell.

Thank you for your co-operation

Yours sincerely

Parents of Class 4C

1st May 2009
Dear parents of pupils in class 4C

I am writing to inform you that Miss Choughtai who is getting married in June this year will be relocating to Bristol. This means that she will be leaving us. Her last day here is Friday 22nd May.
Miss Choughtai is and has been a valued member of our teaching staff and will be sorely missed by all.

We have made the following arrangements to ensure there is a smooth transition for your child’s last half term in year 4.

Your child’s new teacher from 1st June will be Miss Whitfield.
Miss Whitfield will be spending some time in Class 4C before Miss Choughtai leaves, getting to know your children.
Miss Choughtai is currently preparing your child’s end of year reports, which in a change to school policy, will be sent to you.
If you would like to discuss these reports we can make arrangements for this during our parents evening in July
Miss Camp, who will be covering years 4 & 5 while Mrs. Durrant is on maternity leave, will be the Key co-ordinator for Year 4.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to get in contact with me.

Thank you for your co-operation

Yours sincerely
