Industrial Action Thursday 17th October 2013

Thursday 10th October 2013
Dear Parents,

Industrial Action by the two main teaching unions the NASUWT and NUT

Thursday 17th October 2013

As you will have heard in the news, teaching unions have called on their members in London to take strike action, over proposed changes to public sector workers pensions and terms and conditions of employment.

This is happening on THURSDAY 17TH OCTOBER 2013
The majority of teaching staff at Parsloes are in these unions and will be taking part in this action.

Therefore I have no choice but to close their classes on that day.

For the teachers not in these unions their classes will remain open.

Only the following classes will be OPEN to pupils:

In Reception Class RW only

In Year 1 Class 1V only

In Year 2 Class 2AF only

In Year 3 Class 3O only

All other classes will be closed to pupils on this day so PLEASE DO NOT send them to school that day.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience this will cause many of you and have endeavoured to provide you with enough notice as I possibly can.

All classes will re-open on Friday 18th October 2013.

Yours sincerely

Mrs A. Lipski

Book Look

6th October 2013

Dear Parents

BOOK LOOK

Years 1 to 6

Now all the children have settled in to their new classes we have arranged an opportunity for you to visit your child’s class and have a look at their books and see what they have been learning so far this year.

This will be on Thursday 10th October 2013 after school till 4pm.

Please enter through the office, with your child and he or she will take you to their classroom, where he/she can show you their books.
The class teacher will be present to answer general questions only, as this is not our formal parents evening.
Our formal parents evening will be held after half term where you will be given a time slot to discuss in detail your child’s progress.

On the day you will be given a year group booklet with specific information you will need over the coming year If you cannot make this evening these booklets will be sent home with your child the next day.

(For parents of children in Reception or Nursery, we will be arranging opportunities later on in the term

for you to look at their foundation stage profile.)

We look forward to seeing you then.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Lipski
