14 March 2011
Dear Parents
For years 3, 4, 5 & 6
During week beginning 28th March 2011
We have arranged a visit for children in years 3, 4 5 &6 to visit the Olympic Stadium in Stratford. The LA has approved this trip and full insurance details can be viewed at the school office.
Monday 28th March Year 4 pupils will be going
Tuesday 29th March Year 3 pupils will be going
Wednesday 30th March Year 5 pupils will be going
Thursday 31st March Year 6 pupils will be going
The trip is a Guided Tour with Blue Badge Tour Guides and will involve a visit to the ‘Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’ in Stratford (the main stadium for the 2012 Olympics). Here the children will be led to a panoramic vantage point, where they will be able to see the iconic stadia and arenas. Following this, the children will be taken to the Excel Centre where they will be able to see the planes taking off and landing at City Airport. Finally, the children will travel to the Thames Barrier Park where they will have lunch before returning to school.
The Blue Badge Tour Guides are very informative and will be able to give the children lots of information regarding the forthcoming Olympics.
The children will be travelling by coach, which are fitted with seatbelts. They will be supervised by teachers and classroom assistants.
All children need to bring a packed lunch. This should be in a plastic bag, with their name on it, so it can be thrown away once finished.
For the visit all children should wear full school uniform and sensible footwear. The children should not bring pocket money.
We intend to leave school by 9.00am in the morning so ensure your child is in school on time. We will be returning by 3.00pm so please collect your child at the usual time.
The cost of this trip has been subsidised by the school and therefore the cost to parents will be £5.00, which should be sent into school along with the attached permission slip.
If you have any further questions about the trip please do not hesitate to contact the class teachers or myself.
Thank you for your co-operation
Yours sincerely
Mrs A Lipski
